Configurations
Configurations allow you to save and reuse specific dashboard setups, including filters, crossover variables, visible blocks, and block settings. This enables quick switching between different analysis views without reconfiguring your dashboard each time.
Definition
A configuration is a saved snapshot of your dashboard's current state. It preserves all settings that affect how data is displayed, including which blocks are visible, what filters are applied, which crossover variable is selected, and individual block configurations. You can create multiple configurations for the same dashboard to support different analysis scenarios.
When to use
Use configurations when you:
- Regularly switch between different analysis views (e.g., monthly reports vs. quarterly summaries).
- Need to share specific dashboard setups with team members.
- Want to quickly restore a complex set of filters and settings.
- Analyze the same data from multiple perspectives.
Configurations are especially useful for recurring reporting tasks where the same settings are used repeatedly.
Key behaviors & constraints
- Each configuration saves the complete dashboard state at the time of creation.
- Configurations are specific to a single dashboard.
- Updating a configuration overwrites its previous settings.
- Deleting a configuration does not affect the current dashboard view.
- Configuration names must be unique within a dashboard.
What is saved
A configuration includes:
- Crossover variable: The selected question used for cross-tabulation
- Filters: All global and block-level filters
- Block visibility: Which blocks are shown or hidden
- Block configuration: Individual settings for each block (chart types, display options, etc.)

Examples
Monthly reporting: Create a configuration called "Monthly Report" with filters for the last 30 days, specific blocks visible, and no crossover variable. Load this configuration at the start of each month for consistent reporting.
Product comparison: Create a configuration called "Product Analysis" with "Product" as the crossover variable, product-related blocks visible, and region filters applied. Use this when analyzing product performance across markets.
Executive summary: Create a configuration called "Executive View" showing only high-level KPI blocks with year-to-date filters and simplified visualizations for stakeholder presentations.
