Filtering

Filtering allows you to focus your analysis on specific subgroups or criteria within your data. The R3M platform provides flexible filtering tools so you can explore emotional activation results by demographics, product attributes, or any custom variable included in your dataset.

Applying filters

  • Select filters for all cards: Use the Select Filters for All Cards menu (top right corner of the dashboard) to choose one or more filter criteria.
  • Multiple values: You can select several values within a single filter (e.g., "Women" + "18-25 years old") or combine multiple filters.
  • Single card filtering: Apply a filter to just one card by clicking the filter icon below the card.

Filter settings

  • Manage project filters:
  • Change the order of filter values (up/down arrows).
  • Rename variables or modalities (pen icon).
  • Hide variables or specific values (eye icon).
  • Merge selected modalities to create subtotals (sheet icon), and choose whether to display merged values.
  • Flag modalities with fewer than a set number of respondents (e.g., < 5, < 10, < 15, < 20, < 25).

Emotional activation filter

  • Lovers / in between / rejectors: Use the emotional activation filter to segment respondents by their R3M Score:
  • Lovers: R3M Score > 30
  • In Between: 0 < R3M Score < 30
  • Rejectors: R3M Score < 0

Tips for effective filtering

tip

Use clear, grouped, and descriptive filter names in your data file for easy navigation and interpretation on the platform. Avoid one-way criteria (e.g., don’t include "Gender" if all respondents are women).
